Created in the early 18th century out of the ruins of a substantial 12th century earthwork castle, The Moot Garden in Downton is now owned by a charity, open to the public, and mostly managed by volunteers. High Jinks in the MootDownton Moot is in party mood and everyone was invited. On Sunday June 14 2009, it celebrated it's 21st birthday with a special event called High Jinks In The Moot. It marks 21 years since the landscape garden was bought by the Downton Moot Preservation Trust and restoration work to return it to its former glory began.
